annoyingly pulls at adolphe's cheeks for a second—a little reprimanding pinch before he relaxes again ]

[ lucas is also quite good at it—but adolphe truly takes the least effort to calm yves's nerves when he's such an emotional person ]

[ Yves and love go hand in hand, Adolphe thinks. This is why he really can't get angry or swat Yves's hands away when he pinches his cheeks. What does it mean to feel special in a way that he doesn't hate? He's still struggle to come to terms with it, which is why his encounters with Elysia make him wary when she insists that he's suddenly worthy of things that he doesn't feel like he deserves. It's like being gaslit with imposter syndrome and he doesn't know what to do with himself.

But to hear these words from Yves, he feels like he can believe them just a little more. Adolphe tries to muster the mental preparation and courage to speak. ]

[ Adolphe's chao picks a great time to interrupt him, by which, no it's horrible. The chao makes some baby babbling sounds before it tries to climb up Yves's pant leg. ]

[ yves's own chao is toddling after... not wanting to be left behind... looking up at adolphe with :pien: eyes ]

[ Adolphe sighs and picks up Yves's chao to place it on his lap. Its cute little pienface... Adolphe's chao squeak giggles upon being lifted. ]
