[ but the rest of adolphe's statement hits and he just laughs a little bit, burrowing himself more against adolphe's side affectionately because he can and adolphe has been letting him get away with it ]

He's not coughing blood, neither are fighting Bourreau... They're not "alive" but they're well. For the most part. And that's enough to be grateful for. ]
