adolphe hugs him tightly and yves mirrors the hold automatically—but it fails to prepare him for those words. there’s no helping the full body shiver that runs down his spine or the sharp intake of breath to accompany it.

it’s a little dizzying to be wanted so much. he’s gotten better at accepting he’s loved but the high of this love hasn’t yet worn off. maybe it never will.

he turns his head to crash their mouths together again, just so needy and wanting.

I can be yours. his brain barely manages to process a reply, even as he kisses adolphe so desperately, nipping just so lightly at his bottom lip to ask permission to deepen the kiss. I can be all yours. Please.

[ Perhaps it's a little like what Yves had seen before—a love that consumes the soul, heart, body, and mind. When Adolphe thought that, he mostly wanted Yves's heart, even if he knows that he won't get all of it. He'll take what he can for now and deal with the jealousy later. This much is a lot already, but people are greedy. They always want more.

He didn't expect to see Yves shiver in his hold like that either, but he doesn't have time to think about it when Yves presses closer and kisses like his love depended on it. So Adolphe wants to return the same sort of passion in that kiss, and he does. It's just that he's not familiar with how the nipping is supposed to ask for permission for a deeper kiss. He has probably heard about it before, in some gossip rumors while he patrolled, amongst the brothel workers at how some of their clients are terrible at kissing and some of them being mindblowingly excellent, but he didn't care much about it, so it's not exactly at the forefront of his brain when his mind is just so full of Yves, Yves, Yves instead. ]

Adolphe doesn't know that. All this is new to him. Uncharted territory while being guided by the guy who's been here before. But he just also doesn't know that Yves can feel pain again, because he thought the dullness of the pain was like. Embedded within him—impossible to remove, like a lifelong disability.

Despite doing that out of annoyance, he lightly nips on Yves's lips and licks with the tip of his tongue as if to soothe it. Just a little. ]

[ ok well to be honest yves is also surprised he can feel pain but he’s distracted right now and doesn’t feel like bringing it up. he will process that later.

for now adolphe keeps being sooo cute. there’s a little tingle down yves’ spine but mostly he’s just so fond.

but also he is trying to escalate and maybe show adolphe something fun and new. it’s not like this happened often for yves but enough times he enjoyed himself. so he’ll tilt his head to angle the kiss a little bit better. with what opening he can find, he’ll try to steal away any last remain’s of adolphe’s annoyance with a swipe of his own silver tongue out to work. ]

Despite his protests about being shy, he really is. Yves is right. This is new, but he's a quick learner regardless. Adolphe truly is more reactive than active.

Which is why he licks Yves's with his own and his hand tightens on Yves's shoulder again. ]

well! yves isn’t! he is just deeply enamored! so he accepts this with a pleased noise that is both natural and intentionally encouraging - he’s a con man even now but the only one he ever wants to con is adolphe.

Anyway, the tonguing continues and the longer it goes on, the more intense it gets and he gets more comfortable doing it. Adolphe holds Yves close, his hand sliding down his back along the spine. ]

good for adolphe, being a quick learner. yves follow's the pressure of his hand, arching slightly into the touch naturally, and welcoming the suggestion because it means there's no space left between him and adolphe with as close as he gets. even as adolphe gets more comfortable, yves' delight only grows. he loves attention and there really is something different about getting to experience this with someone who knows every rotten piece of him and can still say he's loved. wow.

though they do eventually need to break apart for air, and then they do, yves is just breathlessly laughing. he doesn't go far, still nuzzling against adolphe's face affectionately as his thoughts try to re-order themselves into words ]
