[ Adolphe is a little quiet, considering things. It's really not much to think about, but he's sure about one thing. ]

You should do whatever you want regardless of what you are.

[ So yes, there is some irony, but Adolphe thinks Charlie is pretty much above that--not in a moral sense, but... it doesn't seem to weigh her down as much as he thought. ]

Do you think you can keep doing it? Keep going at your goal?

[ she goes quiet, regarding him for a moment ]

You don't remember being a child last week, do you?

[ Adolphe goes quiet at that, but it's really just him trying to recall. ]

... I remember. What about it?

[ He remembers it, but there are some parts that he doesn't. It's fuzzy at best. (probably because he broke his own fuckin memories earlier) ]

[ but no, she doesn't mean his memory this time. she smiles sadly ]

[ Adolphe goes quiet at that. That's right. That happened. It was a significant moment for him too. ]

... But what does that have to do with what we were talking about?

[ He's genuinely confused. ]

Their army came to my door... to my hotel. I fought their leader, and lost. That's how I died. Without me, none of them stand a chance.

[ her whole thing about letting everyone down ]

[ He closes his eyes for a moment. ]

Have you ever considered that you put too high standards for yourself?

[ apparently: no she has not ]

You literally assigned yourself to be a savior for a large group of helpless people. That's too much for anybody. Nobody can and should do that.

Well... I am the Princess of Hell. These are my people. And they're not helpless, exactly, just.... sort of against Adam himself? Because he's so insanely powerful, no mortal soul can stand up to him.

Did you not have an army?

[ Adolphe raises an eyebrow like. Why does the princess have to be the military might?? ]

It would be strangely laughable if hell, of all places, didn't have an army.

Well-- not usually, but I did manage to gather help for this battle.

[ so yes it's very funny ]

But Adam took out an entire warship in the blink of an eye. He's on another level from mortal souls. That's the whole problem.
